Raja Annamalaipuram is a quiet residential neighbourhood in the south central part of the city of Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, India. R.A.Puram in short, is known for its tree-lined avenues. Paradoxically it has a very busy C.P.Ramaswamy Road running through it. This is one the arterial roads of Chennai and is turning into a commercial nerve centre. R.A.Puram is flanked by Mandaveli and Alwarpet on one side and the Adyar River on the other. It also has proximity to the seventh-century Kapaleeshwar temple, the San Thome Basilica, the Shirdi Sai Baba Temple, Ramakrishna Mutt, the Madras Boat Club, and, the Theosophical society and Fortis Malar hospital across Adyar River.
